1: Importance of the pump

2: Analysis of the offset jaw shaft coupling

In the installation of the new pump, the verticality between the coupling end face and the axis can not be checked, but the installation of the old pump, must be carefully checked, found not vertical to adjust the vertical alignment. Under normal circumstances, the following four situations may be encountered.

(1) S1=S2, A1 = A2 The end face of the two halves of the back wheel is in the correct position of both parallel and concentric, then the two axes must be located in a straight line.

(2) S1=S2, A1 ≠ A2 The end faces of the two backrest wheels are parallel but the axes are different. In this case. There is a parallel radial displacement between the two axes, e=(A2-A1)/2.

(3) S1≠S2, A1 = A2 Although the end faces of the two halves of backrest wheels are concentric but not parallel. There is angular displacement α between the two axes.

(4) S1≠S2, A1 ≠ A2 The end faces of the two halves of backrest wheels are neither centered nor parallel. There is both radial displacement E and angular displacement α between the two axes.

Coupling in the first condition is that we are looking for the state that the center is striving to achieve. While the second, third and fourth states are not correct, so we need to adjust them to reach the first condition.

3: Find the method of timing measurement and adjustment

The following mainly introduces two commonly used measurement adjustment methods in the maintenance process, which can be divided into different measurement tools:

(1) use knife ruler and feeler gauge to measure the different center coupling. Use wedge clearance rail or feeler gauge to measure the non-parallelism of the end face of the coupling. This method is suitable for low speed and low precision equipment of elastic connection.

(2) Use dial indicator and table frame or special alignment tool to measure the two coupling of different centers and not parallel. This method is suitable for high speed, rigid connection and high precision rotary equipment.

4:Precautions

(1) When using the feeler ruler and knife ruler to find the alignment. Surface of the radial end face of the coupling should be smooth, smooth, rust free and burr free.
(2) In order to see the light of knife shaped ruler, it is best to use a flashlight.
(3) For the final measurement, Foundation bolts of the motor should be completely fastened without loosening.
(4) When using special tools to find the correct, make the same mark. In order to avoid increasing the error of the measurement data, and should be divided into 4-8 points, in order to get accurate data.
